Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs pork tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Mike's Sweet Asian Glaze (marinade and glaze)
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Sliced green onions, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of Mike's Sweet Asian Glaze to create the marinade.
- Place the pork cubes in a resealable bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the pork. Toss to coat the pork evenly. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated pork cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
- Place the pork skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, or until the pork is cooked through and has a nice char on the outside.
- During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the remaining tablespoon of Mike's Sweet Asian Glaze onto the pork skewers, allowing it to caramelize slightly.
- Once the pork is cooked and glazed, remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Sprinkle the Teriyaki Pork Skewers with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.
- Serve the skewers as an appetizer, main course, or alongside steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
